What is the Difference between the classes?
Classes held on Mondays & Wednesdays are more focused on performance & competition. Our dancers perform in many shows / parades during the year and as the dancer gains experience they will be invited to perform on our “dance outs”. None of the performances or competitions is mandatory but 80% of the class is participating in it and the dancer should be aware of that before they start. Additionally, if you plan on performing or competing, you must purchase a school costume (see explanation on Costumes).
Classes held on Thursdays in the Dance With Me Studio are taught in a “Non-competitive” format. The dancers are encouraged to participate in class every week and will perform in the school recital at the end of the year. The costumes here are usually simple and not as expensive. They are generally about $100 and are usually a skirt / shirt with celtic design or a kilt and blouse, etc.
It’s a great way to get started in Irish dancing or for those who are not looking for a big commitment! This is a fun and easy way to learn the beautiful art of Irish dance.
