Dear Parents,

Thursday, April 5^th at the Knights of Columbus Council #126 (3051 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn). Please have your child completely ready to take the group picture (wigs, shoes, dress, cape, headband, etc… all in place) at least 10 minutes BEFORE your picture time (click on the link below for picture schedule). You will have the opportunity to purchase individual photos, as well. Please refer to your e-mail for additional information

O’Malley Irish Dance Academy Visits CBS News on St. Patrick’s Day

Saint Patrick’s Day is always our busiest day of the year, but this year the “busy” got an even earlier start when a few of our dancers were asked to appear on CBS morning news! The dancers met at 4:15am in order to appear during the 6:00-7:00 segment! It was a huge honor and a great success! Congratulations ladies.

I know this post is a little late, but I just had to say, WHAT A SHOW!!!!!! I couldn’t be more pleased… You were FANTASTIC… and I’m so very proud of all of you….. Hard work pays off, and I hope you heard how those people were SCREAMING for you… They loved every minute of it (as much as I’ve loved working with you all to put it together)

To all those AMAZING PARENTS,
I know how busy life is… it seems time is what we all have the least of and I’d like to thank each and every one of you for the time you spent this year working to make this all happen.
You, I know, are as proud of those dancers as I am… but what you didn’t know was what was happening backstage… everyone behaving… everyone being kind to one another.. kids high fiving and cheering other classes they barely knew on as they came off stage telling them “you guys rocked”… They were so professional it gave an odd feeling of calm to the entire event!
Thank you, too, for the financial sacrifices you’ve made for Irish dance… I know times are tough… Thank you for choosing to keep your child in dancing… I’m so lucky to have them!

Steppin Up at Brooklyn Cyclones Irish Night

On July 7, 2011 over 100 dancers took the field at MCU Park in Coney Island. It was a great night of baseball and Irish heritage! Congratulations to all those who participated!

The Journey to see The Lord of the Dance in 3D

The journey began on March 22^nd at 6pm at the Kings Highway and Quentin Road train station. About 3 dozen O’Malley Irish Dancers and their parents took the Q train from Kings Highway to the 42^nd Street Regal Movie Theater to see the sure to be historic showing of Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance in 3D. The anticipation was building the entire 45 minute ride into the city. The souls that braved the train trip met up with another 2 dozen dancers and parents at the theater. The check in procedure was like any other movie… We arrived about 40 minutes early. We handed the ticket counter our pre-printed tickets. We waited on long lines to get our popcorn, candy and drinks. We took the escalator 2 flights up to the theater, picked our seats and settled down for what was to be one of the most enjoyable movie experiences of our lives. And that it was. We all sat there in awe as we saw what one can’t even describe. To see the legendary Michael Flatley on the big screen and in 3D was an amazing experience.

Aside from our normal weekly classes and feisanna, we are frequently asked to provide entertainment at public and private venues throughout the year! As you can imagine, March is our busiest month! 1st Place — Best Dancing School!!!

Congratulations to you all.. We had 112 dancers, 8 members of the Color Guard, 15 or so in the PA and crowds of friends to cheer us on! You ALL added to this win!

I was so very proud of all of our dancers today — you looked fantastic, acted professionally and were a pleasure to watch. Thanks so much to all the parents who helped make everything “come together”.. (I saw parents lending other parents headbands / dresses and the like)… I consider myself very fortunate to have such wonderful group.

We may not have it all together, but together, we have it all!
